Zum Seehund in Helgoland

Quaint, "middle-class" restaurant in the Oberland. Service at the speed but friendly and attentive. Food impeccable - both schnitzel and fish. The prices are slightly lower than those of the neighbors.

Unfortunately we were very disappointed! Waited over an hour for the food and then came a Knorr soup with a breaded shoe sole, which they sell under "Jägerschnitzel" .. Well service was very friendly, therefore the 2nd star. Overall: No recommendation

I would not recommend the restaurant at the moment, first we did not even get a real belk, which as far as I know is not allowed, secondly, the safety distances due to the corona virus are zero, thirdly the food was really not tasty at all. So I wouldn't go there again

Unfortunately it took a while. Guests who came after us were almost ready when we got our food. With one of my companions, the side dish was only lukewarm ... The schnapps was very nice (on the house). Corona rules were implemented very strictly and well.

09/18/2020 due to Corona reserved a table by phone at 6pm a few days ago, was there on time today, the table is only free at 7:45 pm !! ?? It's good that we didn't have our 3 year old daughter with us, that wouldn't have worked! The food was good, sorry but the service was totally bad and unfriendly, the next time we visit Heligoland we will make reservations elsewhere and also inform our contacts that it unfortunately no longer suits the seal !!!

Very delicious food, the menu includes fish and meat dishes and finally there is also schnapps on the house (caraway), make a reservation in advance, as all restaurants have reduced seats due to Covid and this further restricts spontaneous eating, so this is not possible. At the seal you have your table for 1.5 hours, which is sufficient for a starter and main course. Also nice waitresses who respond to requests from the court. We ate here twice on vacation.

The food was good, middle price range. The place is a bit gloomy inside and there was music that not everyone likes. But I definitely think that there are better restaurants on Heligoland. But that's a matter of taste.

This place is absolutely not recommended. No trace of service and friendliness. If I could, I wouldn't even give a star. When the outside temperature was 14 ° C, the door was open. We had our table right in front of it. The door was only laboriously closed and protested when asked. It took over an hour to get our food, although there really wasn't much going on in the restaurant. In addition, none of us had ordered an elaborate meal. No apologies from the waitress or intermittent efforts to determine whether drinks are desired. We sat in front of empty glasses waiting for our dishes. I don't understand how the restaurant got its relatively good rating so far. I would have looked past the long wait if at least the food had tasted good. Roasted potatoes weren't roasted, just fried, still dripping with fat. The plaice fillet also breaded in the deep fryer and mistreated. What a shame about this tender fillet. Bacon vegetables were simply frozen food with fat pushed into the oven. It was totally parched. Finally, you can only pay in cash. This was only dismissed with a snippy remark from the waitress. All in all, neither the service nor the price level of the dishes is right. We will NEVER go there again.

Price-performance ratio is ok. Those who do not expect anything spectacular are well served here. Rustic service, home-style cuisine

This restaurant was recommended to us and we were NOT DISAPPOINTED !!! Very tasty food at normal prices. Unfortunately, we experienced that differently in the immediate vicinity the day before. So, clear recommendation, but reserve a table!

Whenever we are on Heligoland we always like to visit the fish restaurant Zum Seehund in the Oberland, because it has a really nice ambience, friendly service and always a very good price / performance ratio. Since I had eaten a lot of fish in the last few days, I ordered a schnitzel from the seal this time. It was delicious and the portion was sufficient. But fish dishes are simply better in the seal .... My mistake 🙄 Service was very attentive and friendly, you can ignore the fact that you didn't have a napkin. At the present time still for information. Tables with sufficient distance, entrances and exits separate and all in service with face masks. I would love to come back, but then again, but then plaice or cod 👍🏽🐟🍻

Incredibly delicious. People asked what they would like to eat, not just what was on the menu. What the guest wants to eat is cooked here. Really great. We will continue to eat safely here in the future.

Even in these difficult times for the catering trade, we were received very friendly and courteously. The chef is a "bomb", her heart is in the right place. Kudos to the kitchen it was super delicious again. CONCLUSION: Anyone who visits Helgoland should not miss the "Zum Seehund". Booking in advance is advisable

Waited 1 hour 20 for a simple starter even though it wasn't busy. Main course after a total of 1:30. The food was turned off without further notice, so seems normal. Food was ok, unfortunately not more. Price performance does not fit.

We were in the "Zum Seehund" for dinner this evening - at Corona time. There was schnitzel because they are just very good here. The food was hot and tasty. The service was very friendly, despite all the measures that have to be followed. In general I felt safe and in good hands;) We love to come back ... PS: You should reserve a table a week in advance, because every second table cannot be occupied!

Cozy and nice atmosphere. Enjoy your meal. Friendly staff. Good dishes. Have schnitzel pear Helene eaten. I had never seen on a menu before. Really great. We recommend.
